Jacob Vanhorn, Pastor
Jacob serves as the pastor of the Soma Austin community.  He last served as the College & Singles Pastor at The Village Church in Highland Village, Texas.

He is married to his lovely bride, Christie and has two really cool children, Caleb is 6 and Hannah is 3.  They live in South Central Austin and are super excited to raise their children here and to call Austin home for the next 20-40+ years.

Jacob loves Jesus, the Soma Austin community and the city of Austin, and beyond. He is an advocate for those experiencing homelesness & poverty in Austin, and in Haiti.

Jacob also serves as a:

  1. Founder & Board Member of Renew Austin, a city renewal initiative.
  2. Founder & Vision Director for Porterbrook Austin, a thelogical training program.
  3. Board of Director for Help End Local Poverty, a global non-profit working to rescue, restore and renew orphans.
  4. South Austin Knight and a Defender of the Realm (you too can be a South Austin Knight by donating $20 to the South Austin Culture club.

Adam Wilder, Director of Porterbrook Austin
Adam serves as the Director of Porterbrook Austin and he leads the South Lamar Soma Group.  He is married to Olivia Wilder and they have a son named Kalvin. He is also completing his seminary training at Southern Seminary and works as a schoolteacher at Dripping Springs.

Daniel Darnell, Director of Worship and Creative Arts
Daniel serves as the Director of Worship and Creative Arts at Soma Austin and also leads the South Congress Soma Group. He moved to Austin in January 2010 to join the mission of Soma Austin in seeing the city of Austin redeemed and renewed with the hope of Jesus. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he studied speech communication. Though he is a native Dallasite, he now calls Austin home.

 

Richard Russell, Director of Soma Groups

Richard oversees all of our Soma Groups scattered across the city. He is married to Tina and they have 3 children.

Amanda Kubicki, Administrative Support Coordinator 

Amanda coordinates all administrative support functions for church operations, including recruiting and supervising administrative volunteers. She is the person who makes all things run smoothly. She is unapologetically a Baylor Bear.
