Soma Kids
At Soma Austin we believe strongly in the family, and we want to help your family be a strong family.
Soma Kids on Sundays
Soma Austin meets Sundays at 10:30am at 4201 S. Congress Avenue in Central/South Austin.
We offer childcare for infants through fifth grade. We recommend that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to check-in and ask any questions you have. Soma Kids is in the back right of the main building after you enter. If you have a child in the sixth grade or older that you would like childcare for, please email and let us know.
Because we are parents also, we want to answer three common questions that parents have:
Will My Child Be Safe?
All Soma kids volunteers are already in community with us so we know them, they have all had background checks, including sex offender checks and there are always at least two adults present. Only parents with claim tags are allowed to pick up children, so please hold on to your claim tag. In order to keep your kids healthy we regularly clean and disinfect toys and playmats.
What Will My Child Learn?
In addition to providing a safe place for your children on Sunday mornings, we seek to teach children about Jesus through biblically faithful, age appropriate teaching that centers on the person and work of Jesus as the centerpiece of God’s story. We also want to encourage and support parents in teaching their children about God, so when you leave you will be given a handout that shows what your child did and learned that day, along with some next steps for you to take with your children.
Will My Child Have Fun?
Each week, our volunteers work to provide an exciting, nurturing and intentional environment for our children. Through creative teaching, crafts and other avenues, our leaders help children enjoy learning about Jesus from the Bible. Your children will have a great time at Soma Kids!
