There is much confusion among Christians regarding ‘calling’. Calling basically meaning “what should I do with my life.” For me, my call is to a city, specifically to the people of the city of Austin. Your call might be to a career, to a specific cause or to a specific place. I believe that much of the confusion regarding calling comes down to two things...

People
Being made after the image of God means that each person is to be viewed and treated as having inherent dignity and that we should seek to bring restoration to broken and hurting people.

Communities
We exist in community. Everyone of us. Take a look around and it
isn't difficult to see both the beauty of our communities as well as
the disparity and brokenness in our communities. We desire to
celebrate the beauty and to bring restoration to the brokenness and
equity to those who are in cycles of violence, poverty and a lack of
education.

Message
The message of Jesus Christ is the good news that His life, death and resurrection have purchased for us reconcilation between man and God, between man and man and it brings restoration to the world. This news is called the gospel.
The gospel is necessary for those who are far from God as well as for those who profess the Christ. We all need the same thing. The gospel.
