As a gospel renewed community we are committed to seeing physical, social and spiritual renewal deepen in various communities in Austin. One of the communities we are committed to serving are those who are currently homeless in our city, and as part of our response we are working to launch the Rework Project.

What is the Rework Project?

Rework Project is a city-wide community response that is about work itself and rethinking work for those experiencing homelessness. It is a relationally driven response. We can't always give money and jobs to everyone, but we can offer healthy relationships with dignity and respect. It is informed by the belief that everyone has some talent, but not everyone has opportunity. We want to be distributers of opportunity and renewal.

There are several components of the Rework Project currently under development:

• Workshop: A 2200 sq ft warehouse in South Austin that we are building out with a woodshop and sewing/crafts space for men and women to be able to build, repurpose and constuct products to sell in our retail space and at area community events.
• Retail: This is where we will sell products that men and women make. Proceeds from these products go directly back to the person who made it.
• Job Search & Training
• New Businesses & Job Creation

How Can You Help Right Now? Attend the Rework Project Vision & Fundraising Evening

We would like to invite you to attend the Rework Project Vision & Fundraising evening this Sunday night. At this event we will be sharing some of our personal experiences over the last year and a half, along with our vision for the future. We will be inviting you to participate with us as financial partners, volunteers and/or business partners. If you are a church leader we would love to discuss how your church could partner with us for the renewal of men and women in Austin.

Lives are already being changed through the Rework Project and we would love to share this story and opportunity with you. The evening is casual and dinner will be provided. (We will not be able to provide childcare)

Our guest speaker, Phil Dougan, is the director of Young Life-Austin West. Phil has devoted his life to building relationships with young people and seeing them grow in their talents, giftings and callings. He is an excellent communicator, full of life and energy and there is no doubt that he will have you laughing out loud!

Please feel free to invite family, friends, co-workers and business leaders that you think would be interested in hearing more about the Rework Project. Please have them pre-register so we have an accurate head count. Together, we CAN make a difference!
