Sunday Gatherings - Online Only for the Advent Season

Our Sunday Gatherings are open to everyone and will be OUTSIDE and ONLINE streaming through zoom. This of course is weather and safety guidelines permitting. We will follow guidelines from the Austin Public Health Department and will practice social distancing and wearing masks. If you would like to keep up to date for each weeks gathering you can look here, social media and our groupme account.

If you are joining us OUTSIDE here, are a few reminders:

  • We will be meeting behind the Anderson Mill Community Center.

  • Download the Church Center App so you can follow along with the liturgy.

  • Bring chairs and blankets for seating. Blankets might help younger kids so that they can see the space they need to stay in. Also, if your kids need toys or activities during the gathering, it's not a problem.

  • Wear masks. We will be outside and socially distant, but wearing a mask is still a good idea.

  • The Gathering will be around 60 mins.

  • Following the Gathering, make an effort not to start congregating together too close. I know this will be hard, but we need to respect each other as we Gather and maintain social distancing.

If you are joining us ONLINE :

  • You can live stream here through ZOOM. CLICK HERE TO JOIN ON ZOOM

  • Treat the online gathering like you would our in-person gathering. Eliminate distractions, have your Bible nearby, take notes, and participate where you can.

  • Follow along with the Digital Liturgy through the Church Center App or ONLINE HERE.

Either way, you are joining us, we are glad to have you. If you want to connect more with Soma through a Missional Community or a DNA group let us know.

Church Gathered as we are Scattered

Our Missional Communities come together on Sundays, at 10am for Outdoor, In-person gatherings OR you can join us online. We gather to celebrate all that Jesus has done and is doing in our lives. We gather to worship Jesus, he is our Savior and we love him. We gather to remind, refocus and reshape our hearts and lives around Jesus. We gather because we are the church, the body (Soma) and we need each other

Why We Gather

The Bible warns that we are a forgetful people.  Thus, we remind each other regularly of our identity in Christ, worshiping Him through song, prayer, communion, and study of Scripture.  We view Sunday Gatherings as a "commissioning service" to equip and empower our Missional Communities (MCs), that they might be sent out as disciples who make disciples.

What to Expect

Ephesians 4:1-16 tells us that we are one body with many different parts.  When each part is working properly, the entire body is built up into him who is the head, Jesus Christ!  To that end, we seek to study The Word as a whole body.  Our sermons are often interactive, allowing the saints to build each other up in love.  If you're a first-time visitor, no worries!  No one is required to interact and you will certainly never be put on the spot to share.

Soma Kids

We are working on a Soma Kids/ family liturgy. For right now it is ok to allow your younger kids to be occupied with a movie or other activities so that you can participate in the Gathering. Also you might consider downloaded content for your kids or a DVD in order to not overwhelm your wifi.
